Monmouthshire County Council recently published a report on tourism in the area titled “The Future of Monmouthshire’s Information Centres”. In this report, the TICs were barely mentioned, instead it concentrated on the potential uses of using technology as a way to attract tourism into the area.
Veronica has campaigned relentlessly to keep all of the TICs in Monmouthshire open with staff. Veronica believes that technology is an incredibly important part of modern day life, but nonetheless, it can never replace personal face-to-face contact that visitors currently receive at our TICs. Web-based technology should always complement the TICs rather than replace the excellent service they currently offer.
Recent news seems to indicate that the TICs in Monmouthshire will indeed remain open and fully staffed. Veronica would like to thank everybody who joined her on the campaign to keep the TICs open.
