Creating a spur into Rogiet from the motorway

« Issues and Campaigns

Original proposals were for the spur to lead off the M4, starting on the Bristol side of the toll booths. Veronica believes this is a terrible idea, as whilst it has the potential to benefit a few Bristolian commuters, it certainly would not help the people from South Wales.

Veronica believes that it would be a good idea to build a spur off of the M48, between Caldicot and Rogiet, which would then mean Welsh commuters can drive straight to Severn Tunnel Junction and get the train. This new junction would:
· Provide a direct link for local people to the M48, which would therefore take cars off the busy B4245 through Caldicot and the villages of Rogiet, Undy and Magor.
· Allow for a new road link to be built leading to an enhanced park and ride station at Severn Tunnel Junction, bypassing Rogiet.
